To start off, it’s crucial to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in your bathroom. Developing good habits of tidying up and cleaning is key. Remember to promptly remove any clothes from the bathroom and ensure that you can neatly put away all the items you’ve used.
Store them in a cupboard or drawer where they won’t be visible to visitors. Additionally, make it a routine to clean the bathroom at least once a week, even if you only have time for the sink and toilet.
The bathroom is a highly utilized space in your house and, if neglected even for a short while, it can easily turn into an unsanitary health risk. Hair can begin to block the drains, limescale can accumulate on the shower heads and faucets, and mold can develop on various surfaces.
Bathrooms are a crucial component of every household, and it’s important to prioritize keeping them tidy to ensure a healthy living space. As time goes on, it’s natural for dirt, grime, and bacteria to build up in places such as countertops, toilets, and showers.
Make sure to clean surfaces frequently
Having fewer things to clean in the bathroom makes the cleaning process much faster. Instead of having to move around bottles and scrub off the sticky residue from the bathtub, you can simply swipe the surface and be done with it.
Using a shower rack is a smart way to keep your products organized and prevent them from cluttering the sides of the bathtub. It also helps water to drain properly, giving your bathroom a neater appearance.
If you have kids, a toy scoop is a fantastic tool for tidying up their bath toys and allowing them to dry out as well.
Bathrooms are a breeding ground for germs, accumulating toothpaste, hair, soap, water marks, and other unsightly things. That’s why it’s crucial to maintain cleanliness. A great method to ensure your bathroom surfaces stay hygienic and gleaming is by regularly wiping them down.
Just give them a spritz of antibacterial bathroom cleaner and use a microfibre cloth to wipe away the grime. It’s as easy as that. By doing this every couple of days, you’ll keep dust at bay and maintain a tidy bathroom.
Clean Shower & or Tub
Cleaning both the bathtub and shower is typically a breeze. I recommend spraying the surfaces with an all-purpose cleanser. After a few minutes, use a microfiber towel to wipe everything down. Regular cleaning using an all-purpose cleaner will keep your tub and shower gleaming clean and free of filth.
Showers and tubs can become moldy due to dampness. Check out my top strategies for eradicating mold from bathroom caulk and grout. Find out how to deep clean your whirlpool tub’s jets here. If your shower door has thick residue, use this easy way for eliminating hard water marks.
Clean your Shower head
Is the water pressure from your showerhead decreasing? If this is the case, it is most likely the result of mineral buildup caused by hard water, mold, filth, and grime. Rest assured that cleansing your showerhead is much easier than you think. All you need is some white vinegar and a used toothbrush to complete the job.
You most likely neglect cleaning your bathroom showerheads as often as you should. But, it’s important not to skimp on cleaning this area. Your showerheads come into direct contact with the water that washes over you! Cleaning and disinfecting your showerheads is actually quite easy.
Just create a mixture of hot water and white vinegar. I usually mix equal parts water and vinegar. After that, take off the showerhead and let it soak in the solution for about half an hour. Lastly, use an old toothbrush to scrub off any leftover grime and buildup.
Clean your Toilet
Scrubbing the toilet is a quick and straightforward activity, if not the most enjoyable. Pour toilet cleaning into the bowl and let it sit. While the cleaner works, clean the toilet’s exterior.
You can use a basic all-purpose cleaner with a paper towel or wipes. I like Lysol wipes for a quick toilet clean-up. Wipe down the lid, seat, and bottom. Also, remember to wipe the handle. After wiping down the toilet, clean the bowl with a toilet brush.
If you’re concerned about particular cleaning chemicals, you can always choose natural alternatives.
To clean your toilet naturally, use vinegar and baking soda to remove hard water stains.
Simply sprinkle 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup vinegar over the bowl of the toilet. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes, then scrub it and run the water.
Clean your Shower Curtain
Who else is guilty of constantly getting rid of their shower curtains as soon as they spot a little mildew? Instead of always buying new ones, there’s a simpler and more cost-effective solution.
Shower curtain liners are often overlooked when cleaning around the house. I have to admit that when I was younger, I completely overlooked the small mold spots that were forming on the bottom of our shower curtain liner. Looking back, that was somewhat foolish given how simple it is to clean!
Just toss them in the washing machine (using a gentle setting) along with a few towels, some detergent, and half a cup of baking soda. And when it’s time for the rinse cycle, add half a cup of vinegar! This way, you can save some money and only replace your shower curtains when it’s truly necessary!
It might sound a bit strange, but yes, it’s perfectly fine to toss a plastic shower curtain in the washing machine. Go ahead and give it a good wash!
Clean & Wipe Down your Cabinets
.Many cabinets are coated with lacquer to protect the wood from mold and mildew. Often, the ingredients in the varnish are what give the wood its shine. I have to admit, a varnished cabinet does look very appealing.
I can’t believe how filthy my bathroom cabinets get sometimes. It’s like they attract dust and all sorts of spills, especially lotion or toothpaste. To maintain the pristine look of your bathroom cabinets, all you need is a microfiber cloth and a bit of moisture.
Simply glide the cloth gently over the cabinets to eliminate any dust or dirt. Don’t forget to give extra attention to the knobs, as they tend to get grimy from regular use. And if you happen to use a ton of hairspray, make sure to wipe it off the cabinets as well.
Sweep & Mop your Floors
It is crucial to be aware that bathroom floors can host a variety of bacteria, including stomach viruses and the fungus that causes athlete’s foot. While some fungus found in toilets may not directly cause illness, they can exacerbate asthma and allergies.
Understanding how to properly clean bathroom floors is critical for your family’s general health and well-being. Even still, many people dislike this task.
Once you finish tidying up your bathroom, make sure to give the floors a good clean. I usually start by sweeping away the dust and dirt, and then follow up with mopping. After you’re done cleaning the floors, your bathroom will be sparkling clean and ready to dry.
Make sure to regularly clean the bathroom floors to get rid of germs and stop mold and mildew from appearing. Before you start mopping with a cleaning solution, use a brush or vacuum to get rid of any dust or loose particles. If you want to remove tough stains without using strong chemicals, give natural cleaners like vinegar or lemon juice a try. And for those grout lines and corners, you can effectively clean them with bleach, baking soda, or a mixture of vinegar and salt.
Why waste your entire day scrubbing the bathroom? With these easy tricks, you can quickly freshen up your bathroom and get back to doing what you love.
